Pele Sighting
Sighting of the Volcano Goddess Pele
on the Big Island of Hawai'i

Many people claim to have seen the fiery volcano goddess Madame Pele in and around her home,
Kilãuea Volcano, on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
Now and then a photographer captures an image of Pele in the clouds above the volcano, in
the lava flow, or in the steam generated when the lava hits the sea. An occasional such photo finds its way into the
local or Honolulu newspaper.
The image above shows the profile of a female face in the lava as it races down to the sea. Are
such images actual appearances of the deity? Some believe they are. Others maintain they are projections of the
collective unconscious or the aggregate of thought forms in the human psyche stemming from our
belief systems.
This photo was given to me by a friend. Do you know who the photographer i
s? If so,
please contact me, so I can give her or him
credit. Mahalo.
